The Port of Gulfport is a deep-water, international seaport located in Gulfport, Mississippi. Annually the Port handles more than 2 million tons of cargo and over 200,000 TEUs. As an enterprise state agency, the Port of Gulfport is governed by a five-member board of commissioners and complies with specific laws defined by the State of Mississippi.

Doing Business At the Port of Gulfport
The latest technological advances are utilized to ensure that our customers receive services in the timeliest and most cost-effective way. The entire Port of Gulfport is designated as Foreign Trade Zone #92, which includes on-port and off-port sites. Off-port, FTZ industrial parks, warehouses, air cargo and distribution facilities are available at a number of sites within Hancock, Harrison and Jackson counties. Port of Gulfport Facilities
Encompassing 300 acres, the Port of Gulfport has nearly 6,000 feet of berthing space across 10 vessel berths, 110 acres of open storage space, and 400,000 square feet of covered warehouse space. The Port is also equipped with a specialized ramp for roll-on, roll-off vessels, and three ship-to-shore gantry cranes.
Strategically located on the northern Gulf of Mexico, just 18 miles from the open Gulf waters, the Port of Gulfport is readily available to service any type of cargo. Interstate 10 is located approximately five miles north of the Port, with Foreign Trade Zone #92 located on the dock, providing immediate access to a Class 1 rail service through Kansas City Southern Railway Company (KCS).
Currently, the Port’s channel is authorized to a depth of 36 ft. The goal of a deeper navigational channel is part of the broader strategic plan to create a more competitive port.

Purchasing and Contracting Opportunities
The Port’s finance department is responsible for all purchases made on behalf of the Port of Gulfport and procurement procedures have been developed to provide a fair process for all contracting and purchasing business needs. Port employees are not allowed to order from a vendor without first obtaining an authorized purchase order or executed contract. Vendors, consultants or contractors should not allow purchases to be made or work to begin without receiving a signed purchase order or a fully executed contract.
